The water purifier with nothing to pay up front

What you get for €29.90 a month

One fee, and everything that makes the water come out of the tap is inside it. The system and the tap stay ours: you have them on free loan for use, which is the Italian comodato d'uso — you use them, we own them and we look after them.

• the reverse-osmosis system, fitted under your sink, and its dedicated tap;
• a carbonator for sparkling water, with the first CO₂ cylinder included;
• scheduled filter changes, at our initiative, not when you remember;
• servicing and support: if something breaks, a technician comes.

What is not in the fee: the one-off €120 installation from day 31, the water and the electricity the system uses — both yours, as they would be anyway — and the CO₂ refills after the first one, at a capped price. We say so here rather than further down, because a cost mentioned late is not a cost mentioned.

How the 30 days work

A technician comes and fits the system. You do not pay a deposit, a reservation fee or a first month: nothing at all. For 30 days you drink the water and decide.

If it is not for you, write to us by day 30: we come and collect the system at our own expense. No penalty, nothing owed, and nothing to send back by post.

If you stay, from day 31 the subscription starts: €29.90 a month, plus the €120 installation once (the first charge is €149.90). After that there is no minimum term and no notice period — you cancel when you like. The full rules are in the terms of service, which are the Italian text and the one that counts.

What reverse osmosis actually does

Italian tap water is drinkable almost everywhere — that is not the problem. The problem is usually taste, limescale and what it does to coffee, pasta water and the kettle. Reverse osmosis pushes the water through a membrane whose pores are small enough to hold back most of what is dissolved in it, then the minerals are put back in a controlled amount so the water tastes of something.

Still or sparkling, from the same tap

A carbonator comes with the service, so the sparkling water is made in your kitchen and there are no bottles to carry up the stairs. The first CO₂ cylinder is included; the refills after it are yours to pay, at a capped price agreed with us.

The carbonator reaches you through the supply agreement between AcquaStream and SodaStream. SodaStream is a registered trademark of its owner; this is a supply arrangement, not an endorsement.

Leave your postcode in the form and we tell you straight away whether you are in the area. Whatever the postcode says, a person checks the address and whether the system can physically be fitted in your kitchen before anything is activated: a flat with no space under the sink is a no, and it is better to know before the technician is at the door.
